{"id":210,"date":"2019-05-25T12:42:12","date_gmt":"2019-05-25T02:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/edmonton-adventist.org.au\/wpcontent\/?p=210"},"modified":"2019-09-10T09:22:36","modified_gmt":"2019-09-09T23:22:36","slug":"answered-prayers-at-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/edmonton-adventist.org.au\/wpcontent\/?p=210","title":{"rendered":"Answered Prayers at School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Glenn Coon was invited to take a Week of Prayer at The Mountain School encouraging the ABC of praying with Bible promises.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Ask for anything the Bible has promised.<\/li>\n<li>Believe that God will do what He has promised.<\/li>\n<li>Claim\/receive\/get your answer and thank Him for answering.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These are some of the stories related shared during that week.<\/p>\n<p>The first day of the week of prayer, the students were upset because Eddy had been told by his parents he was to leave the school; his parents did not want him uniting with this \u2018queer\u2019 church.\u00a0 Eddy had been preparing for baptism.\u00a0 The students were searching their Bibles for a Bible promise to claim to either change the parent\u2019s minds, or else to help Eddy to witness to his parents.<\/p>\n<p>When his parents arrived, Eddy begged to stay but it only made his parents more determined to remove him.\u00a0 When the last goodbyes were said, the faculty and students again gathered, asking God to either intervene or to strength Eddy.<\/p>\n<p>Before the week was over a letter came from Eddy, sharing how the Lord was giving him courage.\u00a0 \u201cTonight,\u201d he wrote, \u201cThe preacher is coming over to talk because my parents think he can prove me wrong.\u00a0 But I know what the Bible says.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A week later he wrote again, \u201cClaim promises for me, and it may be that God will use me to convert the minister who is coming over again&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another student said he suffered severely with a bad back; only one of the teachers knew how to bring him relief.\u00a0 One day, the student found himself in terrible pain but when he went to get help he found out that teachers was away for the day.\u00a0 He remember the power of prayer and not knowing which verse to claim decided on Matthew 7:7\u2014\u2019Ask and you will receive.\u2019\u00a0 Turning to the promise, he prayed but when he finished and got up his back still hurt.\u00a0 Then he remembered that he hadn\u2019t thanked God.\u00a0 So he did this and then turned his attention to studying.\u00a0 Half an hour later when he went to get up he realised the pain was completely gone!<\/p>\n<p>Another student enlisted the help of a friend to pray for his father.\u00a0 Things weren&#8217;t good at their home.\u00a0 They claimed 1 John 5:16 \u2018If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life.\u2019\u00a0 He wrote his mother asking her to claim the promise too.\u00a0 It seemed only a short time later that his mother wrote back to say his father had recommitted his life to the Lord and things were so much happier at home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Glenn Coon was invited to take a Week of Prayer at The Mountain School encouraging the ABC of praying with Bible promises.
