{"id":220,"date":"2019-07-20T12:51:14","date_gmt":"2019-07-20T02:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/edmonton-adventist.org.au\/wpcontent\/?p=220"},"modified":"2019-09-10T09:28:52","modified_gmt":"2019-09-09T23:28:52","slug":"prayer-saves-a-crop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/edmonton-adventist.org.au\/wpcontent\/?p=220","title":{"rendered":"Prayer Saves a Crop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another story from Youth Prays\u2014God Answers.<\/p>\n<p>The weather forecast indicated one day it would be one of the coldest nights of the year.\u00a0 Assistant Professor Lee Davis, in charge of the crop division of agriculture at La Sierra College, was worried.\u00a0 his alfalfa crop, on which several thousand dollars had been spent, was at a stage of growth where a frost would kill it off.\u00a0 If this happened, it would have to be replanted at great cost and loss of time.<\/p>\n<p>Lee had been learning about the prayer of reception from Hugh James.\u00a0 As they met together for prayer that night, High suggested that they claim the promise found in Malachi 3:10, 11.\u00a0 Then since all conditions had been fulfilled, they could see the Lord work miraculously to save the alfalfa field.<\/p>\n<p>The two of them knelt down and claimed the promise: \u201cBring all the tithe into the storehouse,\u2026 and prove Me now herewith, says the Lord of Hosts\u2026 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sake.\u201d Malachi 3:10-11<\/p>\n<p>The next morning Lee again claimed the promise.\u00a0 On his way to church he stopped and looked at the alfalfa.\u00a0 The field was solid white with frost, from one end of the field to the other.\u00a0 Being an agricultural specialist, he knew, or thought he knew, that the crop was lost\u2014destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>But his faith in God did not waver.\u00a0 God would surely fulfil His promise in some way, so Lee bent over and touched the leaves. The ice melted away under his fingers.\u00a0 What he saw made him take a second look.\u00a0 The leaves showed no damage!\u00a0 They were perfect!<\/p>\n<p>With a thankful heart he went on to Sabbath School and church.\u00a0 That afternoon the sun came out from behind the clouds and Lee examined the leaves again. By now the frost was all melted and he could see very clearly that God had answered his prayer of faith.\u00a0 There was no damage to the crop\u2014none whatsoever!<\/p>\n<p>The next night was colder than the one before.\u00a0 However, not a single plant in the entire alfalfa field was damaged by frost.<\/p>\n<p>Later that day, Lee learned from the seed representative about a neighbouring farmer who had planted his alfalfa seed the same day Lee had.\u00a0 Both crops had reached the same stage of growth and development.\u00a0 Yet, while the farmer lost almost three-fourths of this alfalfa crop, and Lee\u2019s co-worker lost a hardy lemon tree because of the frost, the Lord protected the alfalfa field Lee David prayed for.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarded of them that diligently seek Him.\u201d Hebrews 11:6<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another story from Youth Prays\u2014God Answers.
