{"id":236,"date":"2019-09-10T09:39:00","date_gmt":"2019-09-09T23:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/edmonton-adventist.org.au\/wpcontent\/?p=236"},"modified":"2019-09-10T11:28:14","modified_gmt":"2019-09-10T01:28:14","slug":"236","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/edmonton-adventist.org.au\/wpcontent\/?p=236","title":{"rendered":"Answers to Prayer that Test Our Faith"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is also from Youth Prays, God Answers y Glenn Coon.<\/p>\n<p>Dorothy Robinson wrote these words: \u201cMy daughter\u2019s school bill was high.\u00a0 Realising that she could not take her nine-week test until it was paid, I prayed and claimed the promise, \u2018My God shall supply all your needs.\u2019 Philippians 4:19.<\/p>\n<p>My husband and I dedicated our income tax refund towards this bill.\u00a0 We thought it would amount to one hundred and nineteen dollars, but we received only seventy-nine dollars.\u00a0 I was greatly disappointed, to say the least, but we managed to scrape together a little more money and the school allowed my daughter to take her tests, although the bill was not paid in full.<\/p>\n<p>Last year I had performed some services for which I received a fifty dollar gift.\u00a0 I assumed that the same amount would be forthcoming for the same services this year.\u00a0 This also, I had dedicated toward the school bill.<\/p>\n<p>A few days ago I received a letter containing the gift.\u00a0 Instead of fifty dollars it was only ten dollars.\u00a0 I was really discouraged and shed a few tears.\u00a0 I know the Bible says we ought to \u2018leap for joy\u2019, Luke 6:23, when trials come, but I was ready to leap in anger.\u00a0 There was bitterness, resentment and discouragement in my heart.\u00a0 I said, \u2018Why Lord, Why?\u2019 I was not really accepting the trial which the Lord had allowed to come to me.\u00a0 I went around all that evening talking discouragement.\u00a0 I was discouraging everybody.<\/p>\n<p>During the night I realised I was doing Satan\u2019s work, and I asked the Lord for forgiveness.\u00a0 A peace came over me, and I know, mentally at least, what it was to \u2018leap for joy\u2019.\u00a0 The Lord took away the bitterness and discouragement.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t know where the money was coming from, but I felt that the Lord would provide, and with this I went to sleep.<\/p>\n<p>The following day another letter came containing a forty dollar check.\u00a0 I said that a mistake had been made and this was the balance of the fifty dollars that was due me.<\/p>\n<p>I then realised why the Lord had delayed this money in coming.\u00a0 He was testing my faith, and endeavouring to strengthen me.\u00a0 I praised the Lord that the bitterness and disappointment had been taken from my heart before He supplied the need.\u00a0 The bill is still not completely paid, but I have faith that the Lord will supply the res of the money, even as He has promised.\u00a0 I know the bill will be paid in time for my daughter to take her final exams.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dorothy sent a postscript a few days later: \u201cNot only has the Lord provided for the payment of the old school bill, but He has given my daughter a job for the summer which will pay almost all of her next year\u2019s school bill as well!\u00a0 Truly the Lord has supplied all my need, abundantly, more than I could ask or think.\u00a0 Praise His name!\u00a0 Never again will I ever hesitate to \u2018leap for joy\u2019 when trouble comes my way.\u00a0 I know the Lord will see me through.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is also from Youth Prays, God Answers y Glenn Coon.
